Chimelong currently owns and operates three theme parks, one water park, one bird park and two circus shows, which have built up attendance, market awareness and scale over time. The parks are created as part of larger destination developments that include hotels, retail, dining, and entertainment (RDE) districts, meeting and convention facilities, and multiple attractions.
Chimelong elevated the investment scale and quality standard of its park development when it opened the Chimelong Ocean Kingdom Resort in 2014 on southern Hengqin Island next to Macau SAR.
Each park within Chimelong resorts has specific market positioning. Guangzhou Chimelong Paradise targets teenagers and young adults who prefer thrill rides and adventure attractions, while Chimelong Safari Park is animal-themed with more family-oriented activities. Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in Zhuhai is a marine theme park that features a variety of rides and marine animal exhibits for broader market appeal.
Chimelong has been exploring and developing its own intellectual properties (IPs) over the years with the launch of the Kaka Tiger series and the Panda Triplets, including various characters, images and merchandise, as well as a 1,500-room Panda Triplets hotel.
