SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is best known for its SeaWorld marine theme parks and signature marine animal shows. There are currently three SeaWorld locations: San Diego, Orlando, and San Antonio.
The company also owns and operates four regional theme parks (Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Sesame Place Philadelphia and Sesame Place San Diego), five water parks, and Discovery Cove, an immersive marine animal attraction.
In a major shift SeaWorld ended its Orca breeding program and is transitioning its brand from an entertainment to an educational positioning. The experience and interaction with guests currently focus more on the company’s efforts in animal rescue, rehabilitation, and research.
SeaWorld’s licensing of third-party intellectual property is limited. Most notably, the company licenses the Busch Gardens name (from Anheuser-Busch InBev) for its Busch Gardens theme parks, Sesame Street (from Sesame Workshop) for its Sesame Place theme parks and Madagascar (from Universal Pictures/DreamWorks) for its SeaWorld and Busch Gardens parks across US.
