Hong Kong Disneyland‘s new World of Frozen land has been unveiled by Disney CEO Bob Iger in an opening ceremony.

Iger was joined in Hong Kong by Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney parks, products and experiences; Michael Moriarty, managing director of Hong Kong Disneyland; Alan Bergman, co-chairman of Disney Entertainment; and Jennifer Lee, chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios and the writer and director of Frozen and Frozen 2.

“The Frozen franchise is one of the most successful in Disney history and it’s a testament to the power of great storytelling, which is the foundation of the Walt Disney Company,” said Iger.

“It’s been this way for 100 years, and our commitment to storytelling and creativity will continue to define our next 100.”

D’Amaro added: “Our Imagineers worked with Jenn’s team at Disney Animation to ensure every detail is just right. World of Frozen transports you to another world, where you can have fun with your loved ones and make some incredible memories together.”

The world’s first Frozen-themed land officially opens to the public on 20 November with two new attractions – Frozen Ever After and Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs.

The former is a boat ride through the North Mountain where guests see Elsa’s Ice Palace, and the latter is a family coaster that sends riders through caves and over fjord waters.

The immersive zone also offers dining and retail experiences, and a unique interactive show featuring Anna, Elsa and Olaf, as well as projection mapped content, special effects and sensory elements.

As for retail and F&B, Nordic-inspired cuisine is on offer at the Golden Crocus Inn, desserts can be found at Northern Delights, and souvenirs and wooden toys are available at Tick Tock Toys & Collectibles.

Guests can visit the King Agnarr Bridge, and the village, castle, forest and bay of Arendelle.

Elsewhere, Tokyo DisneySea has announced an opening date for its Fantasy Springs expansion, which contains a Frozen-themed area.
