Katapult completes work on LEGO Creative Club23rd May 2023
Following the signing of a framework agreement in November 2019, Merlin announced that it entered an agreement with the Shanghai Jinshan District Government, CMC Inc, and KIRKBI to develop LEGOLAND Shanghai Resort at the end of 2020. Total investment of the project will be USD 550 million, funded by the joint venture formed by the parties entering into the agreement.
The 31.8-hectare theme park resort is in Fengjing, Jinshan District of Shanghai, approximately 70km from the Shanghai city center. It will comprise a LEGOLAND theme park and a themed hotel. The construction started in 2021 and the park is expected to open in 2025.
