Universal Theme Park in Frisco Texas

In January 2023, Universal Destinations & Experiences revealed a theme park resort was being planned in Frisco, Texas, which is within 30 miles north of Dallas.

The theme park will be specifically designed for families with young children aged three to 11 years old. Unlike the large-scale Universal theme parks in Orlando and Hollywood, this new Texas theme park will have smaller footprint, sized for a mostly regional audience.

Universal purchased the 97 acres of land to be used for the resort. In addition to family-friendly attractions and interactive shows within the park, the resort also has plans for a 300-room adjacent themed hotel in a future expansion.

According to city documents for tax incentive agreements, Universal committed to invest no less than $550 million in project construction before 2026. Universal would also need to open the park before summer 2026 for it to receive the tax incentive.
